Great articles. I think that college students understand well how expensive the necessities of life have become. Especially gas. I wish that we could somehow return to the days when a college student could work hard and pay for everything he or she needs and have extra.

Yeah, I know exactly our it feels. When I arrived here about 5 years ago, one gallon of gas was about $1.25. And now with prices reaching 3.25 and maybe $4 in a couple months I wonder if I should invest in a car right now.

it's not about being able to afford the necessities (unless you're paying your own way through college...). In reality, it's about buying the necessities first and then seeing what you can afford after. The US economy has been riding too long on the false waves of hope brought about by credit that is too easy to obtain. This caused inflation and is now causing our economy to collapse. On the cheery side, maybe things will start costing less, like food.
